Attendance: Attendance is a vital part in your child's education. In order for your child to be where he/she needs to be academically, school should be attended on a daily basis. Elementary years are the foundation for your child's future schooling. When school is missed, so is academic learning.
Homework: Homework is given almost every night. In addition to assigned homework please have your child read to you or you read to him/her.
Discipline: Students are expected to follow the classroom rules posted in the room, as well as school rules. I use a rewards/ consequence system in my classroom. (Rewards can be stickers, candy, motivational sayings, small toys and certificates). Consequences can be your child given an opportunity to self-correct his behavior by given time to quietly think about his actions.
Grades: Students are given credit for class work, homework, tests, quizzes, penmanship and participation. Use Power School to check your students grades on a weekly basis.
